The next election in Caddo Parish is Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
This election is a Presidential election. This is an Open Primary election. All registered Caddo Parish voters are eligible to vote for the Presidential candidate of their choice, regardless of the voter’s registered party affiliation or the candidate’s party affiliation. Voters did not have to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary election (held March 5, 2016) in order to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential Election.
Other parishwide elections also on the ballot are U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative. Six Constitutional Amendments will appear on the ballot. All registered voters are eligible to vote on these candidate elections and all Constitutional Amendments. Other local elections scheduled include special elections for Juvenile Court Judge (Election Section 1-C) and Blanchard Mayor; scheduled elections for Ida Aldermen, Oil City Aldermen (Districts 4 and 5), and Rodessa Mayor; and proposition elections for Shreveport, Blanchard, and Vivian. Qualifying for November 8, 2016 election for Candidates other than Presidential Candidates: Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 22 with the Clerk of Court’s office in the Caddo Parish Courthouse. Candidates for U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative qualify with the Secretary of State’s office.

Online registration applications must be received by 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016. All applications submitted by mail must be received in the Registrar’s office or postmarked by Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Early Voting for the November 8, 2016 election:
Tuesday, October 25, 2016 through Tuesday, November 1, 2016 – Closed Sunday, October 30, 2016.
Open 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily at the Registrar of Voters office at 525 Marshall Street, Suite 103, at the corner of Marshall and Milam Streets across from the Caddo Parish Courthouse in downtown Shreveport.
