Early Voting shall be conducted by the Registrar of Voters at 525 Marshall Street in downtown Shreveport with previously announced health and safety precautions such as sanitizing, social distancing and protective items worn by staff.

Early Voting for the Saturday, March 26, 2022 Election will be held at the Caddo Registrar of Voters office, 525 Marshall Street, Suite 103, at the corner of Marshall and Milam Streets across from the courthouse in downtown Shreveport, during the following dates and times: 

Open Saturday, March 12, 2022 through Saturday, March 19, 2022
(Closed Sunday, March 13, 2022)
8:30 am – 6:00 pm each day

All registered voters in the City of Shreveport will vote for the Bond Amendments, and only the voters that reside in the Village of Hosston are eligible to vote on a sales tax. Frequently Asked Questions (August 2020)

1. Will the COVID-19 form be used for the November 3 election?

   No. The COVID application was a part of the emergency order for the July/August 2020 elections. Voting by mail must be based upon the reasons that may be found on this website or GeauxVote.com.

2. May I hand deliver my completed ballot to the Registrar’s office?

   Yes, you may.  However, ballots may only be hand delivered by the individual voting or an immediate family member who must sign an affidavit of delivery. An individual may bring up to two (2) ballots including their own.  An Immediate family member who is not voting by mail may deliver up to two (2) ballots belonging to other immediate family members and must sign upon delivery.

3. Will there be a drop box for ballots?

   Not at this time.  The State of Louisiana has not authorized drop boxes.

4. May I come in and pick up my ballot?

   No. Current legislation does not authorize this method. You must submit an application (hand delivery, USPS, commercial, online and fax is available).  The Registrar will then forward your ballot at the appropriate time.

5. Can I withdraw from the Mail program?

   Yes.  After you submit a request and are enrolled in the program, you may, at any time, submit a signed letter with your name and birthdate and state that you no longer want to be on the program.  
   If you have already received your ballot, you may choose not to vote by mail.  Please contact the Registrar for additional instruction.
   If you withdraw from the Mail program, you will then vote at your normal precinct.  If your ballot has been mailed, however, you are considered to have voted.

6. When will ballots be mailed out?

   Generally, 45 days before the election date.  For the November 13, 2021 election, ballots are expected to be received in the Registrar’s office in September.  They will be mailed out shortly after receipt.
   Deadline for return to the Registrar’s office is generally 4:30p.m. the day before the election.  In this case, Friday, November 12, 2021.

7. What if I have never voted in Caddo Parish before?

   If you have not previously voted in Caddo Parish and would like to vote by mail, there are specific requirements and some limitations.  Please contact our office for details.

Due to the recent Covid19 pandemic, all visitors to the Registrar’s office are asked to comply with the following requirements in order to promote the health and safety of the public, as well as, staff:

1. A hand sanitizing station is provided for use upon entry into the office.
2. Social distancing requirements must be met.
3. Respect and obey all directives of staff until business is accomplished
4. Any and all documents/paperwork will be sanitized prior to being accepted by staff.
